The economical, well-designed, propane-powered Express Dehorner heats up to working temperature of 1,100°F/595°C in less than three minutes. Dehorner is lightweight, weighing less than 1 lb. for the unit itself, and features a built-in hook for hanging and a storage slot in the handle for the hex key. Dehorner has a reversible brass 11/16" to 13/16" tip and includes hose with fittings for propane supply as indicated. Safety: Check that all seals are in good condition and correctly fitted on the connector or regulator before fitting the gas cylinder. Do not use the product with propane under direct pressure. Do not use the product for extended periods with the head down. Never use an appliance with damaged or worn seals. Never use an appliance which is leaking, damaged or not operating correctly. Should your appliance leak (smell of gas), place it outdoors immediately, in a very well ventilated area, away from any source of ignition where the leak can be located and stopped. If you wish to check the seal on your appliance, do so outdoors. Never use a flame to look for leaks, use soapy water. The gas cylinder must be changed in a very well-ventilated area (preferably outdoors), away from any sources of ignition, such as an open flame, pilot lights, stoves and away from other people. The appliance must be used away from flammable materials and 16 inches from walls and ceilings. Use only in sufficiently ventilated areas. Ensure that the appliance is used in a well ventilated area, in compliance with national requirements, to allow the combustion air supply and to avoid the creation of mixtures with a hazardous level of unburnt gas. Never point the burner directly at somebody (they may be burnt in the event of contact with the burner, the flame or hot air), or at combustible materials (risk of fire or poisoning through the inhalation of fumes). CAUTION: Accessible elements may become very hot. Keep out of the reach of children. This appliance is intended for intermittent use. It must not be used as a fixed work station and unsupervised under any circumstances. Do not use a hose of more than 32 feet. Avoid twisting the hose.
STARTING UP THE DEHORNER 1 - Open the gas cylinder. 2 - When used for the first time: wait approximately 40 to 60 seconds for the hose to fill with gas. 3 - Use enclosed striker to light your dehorner. Wait 3 to 5 minutes for dehorner to reach proper working temperature. TURNING OFF THE DEHORNER 1 - Close the valve on the gas cylinder to bleed the hose of gas. 2 - Once the flame is extinguished, close the valve on the appliance. 3 - Wait for the appliance to cool down completely before storing. CAUTION: Once the valve on the gas cylinder is closed, wait until the burner extinguishes (30 to 60 seconds). CHANGING THE GAS CYLINDER Ensure that the appliance is switched off before unscrewing the gas cylinder. The gas cylinder must be changed in a wellventilated area (preferably outdoors), away from any sources of ignition (such as open flames, pilot lights and electric stoves) and away from other people. 1 - Ensure that the gas cylinder is closed. 2 - Loosen the connector or the regulator. 3 - Ensure that seals are correctly positioned and in good condition if appropriate. 4 - Retighten the connector or the regulator on the new gas cylinder. REGULAR MAINTENANCE Never modify the dehorner. A feature of this dehorner tip is that it can be reversed providing two different tip sizes. To change the tip first ensure the dehorner is cold. Next completely unfasten the two screws closest to the tip with the Allen key (2.5 mm). Reassemble the tip in the desired direction and tighten both tip screws with the Allen key. Do not over tighten. AFTER-SALES SERVICE The dehorner is designed solely for professional use and must be operated only by users who have received appropriate training. For safety reasons, repairs must only be carried out by the manufacturer or authorized repair center. Failure to observe this clause will render the warranty null and void. Always protect the appliance from damage and extreme loads. Clean the outside of the appliance with a damp cloth. If you have any other problems, please contact your EXPRESS distributor.
